Waiver enforceability
A liability waiver written in dense legal language that an ordinary person could not reasonably understand is harder to enforce in several jurisdictions. Plain-language waivers are both more enforceable and more respectful of volunteers.
Photo consent must be optional
Bundling photo consent such that declining prevents volunteering is bad practice and legally shaky. Make it a separate optional field, track who declined, and give that list to whoever is photographing.
Claim-period retention
Retain signed waivers at least as long as the personal injury limitation period, commonly two to six years and longer where a minor was involved — some jurisdictions run the clock from the date the minor reaches majority.
