Stop dragging boxes onto signature lines
Upload a document and our engine reads the page, finds every signature line, initial box, and date field, and places the right field type on each one — assigned to the right signer, sized to fit, ready to send.
Preparing a document has always been the least interesting part of e-signature. You upload a contract you have sent a hundred times, then spend five minutes dragging little blue boxes onto signature lines that were already printed on the page.
Smart Fields removes that step. For a standard two-party contract, document preparation drops from about four minutes to under fifteen seconds — and most of those fifteen seconds are people double-checking our work, which we consider entirely reasonable.

We read the page, not just the pixels
Layout analysis finds candidate regions — horizontal rules, bracketed boxes, blank lines. Then the surrounding text classifies each one. A rule under "Authorized Signature" is a signature field; the same rule under "Section 4 — Termination" is a heading underline. The text is what disambiguates.

Fields are matched to signer roles
Words like Landlord, Tenant, Buyer, Seller, Company, and Contractor map to roles. When you add recipients we match them to the roles we found and colour-code accordingly, so a two-party agreement does not end up with both signature blocks on the same person.

Confidence decides placed versus suggested
Every detection carries a score. Above our threshold, the field is placed automatically. Below it, you get a dotted-outline suggestion you accept with one click or ignore. Scanned documents run through OCR first and only ever produce suggestions.

You review before anything sends
Automatically placed fields stay visually distinct until you interact with them, and the toolbar shows a count. You cannot send without opening the preparation screen at least once — a placed field in the wrong spot is worse than no field at all.
